A Reading Rabbit Hole
Sitting in the Library working on Jesus Loves Your History Articles I started thinking about personal goal setting with regards to the release of the second book in the Jesus Loves Your History series.
I wondered what goal I should set myself to reach before I release the second book. Should I set a time limit or a number of books sold limit?
This had me researching:
Just how many people are there in the world?
Google said: 7.5 Billion by 2017.
Okay…I then decided to do a bit of math(s).
7.5 Billion divided by 100 equalled .075 Billion…I then wondered how many people would make up 80% of the world’s population so I multiplied .075 by 80 which gave me 6 Billion.
6 Billion is a very large number of books to sell so I did this math problem again but this time at 20%; 1.5 Billion is 20% of the world’s population.
Personally, these days I didn’t really feel like that sounded like a big number until I realized that the first book is only in English right now.
Next I researched how many English readers there are currently in the world…I got two numbers…one was 400 Million (Native English Readers) and the other was 2 Billion (claim to speak English).
I did my maths again for these two new figures.
My train of thought continued to barrel down its track of thinking…I began to wonder: what book has sold the most copies in history and how many copies did it sell?
The Bible at an estimated 5 Billion copies.
Okay, I am no Jesus Christie.
I looked up best sellers…Harry Potter came up at a whopping half-billion sold in a decade (10 years).
I ain’t no J.K.R. either.
So I decided to set a reachable target of 3,000 by end of year one, 30,000 by end of year two and 300,000 (.075% Native English Readers) by end of year three.
When my goal of 300,000 copies sold worldwide is met I will release book two in the series (The Family Steps).
Now that that was decided (clearly avoiding Article editing at this stage) I began to think about the Bible…which led me to think about how while in Middle School I heard from somewhere that there was a Gospel written by a woman; thus began my quest to find Mary’s Gospel on the internet (it was a fail at that stage…the Gospel was not yet available online and I would have to be a translator with travel funds to read it so I had to park my research at age 12 for another time).
Years later, I searched again…still no joy.
So, today, in my deliberate act of procrastination I re-began my quest.
Here is what I found, where I found it and what I read:
The Gospel According to Mary Magdalene
(The Gospel of Mary)
I read Dr. King's introductory chapter from The Gospel of Mary of Magdala: Jesus and the First Woman Apostle as suggested by -- Lance S. Owens which was a brilliant read.
Then I read the Archive Notes followed by the few pages that still exist of Mary Magdalne’s Gospel (who was not a whore as has been suggested…but a sister and Disciple—gosh men are so predictably scared of being ‘beat by a girl’—easy to call her a whore…not easy to call her a wise spiritual/physical equal).
Anyway, there is a point and it all reflects back to a key concept I believe to be true. In the Gospel of Mary of Magdala she speaks to her fellow Disciples about something Jesus spoke to her about: the concept that everything is one in the same.
In my words in the article on Appreciation:
Everything is made of energy, light & matter [mass] in varying amounts which basically makes us all one in the same…with everything.
In Jesus Christ’s words through his Disciple Mary Magdalne:
(Pages 1 to 6 of the manuscript, containing chapters 1 - 3, are lost. The extant text starts on page 7...)
. . . Will matter then be destroyed or not?
22) The Savior said, All nature, all formations, all creatures exist in and with one another, and they will be resolved again into their own roots.
23) For the nature of matter is resolved into the roots of its own nature alone.
24) He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
I think I might be on the right track with all this.
Just as there were warring religious factions disagreeing on nonsense rules made by men for men back in the day…so there are warring religious factions disagreeing on nonsense rules made by men for men today.
None of that really matters though…cause the Golden Rule is the only rule for a reason:
We are all one in the same and so as we hurt one another we hurt ourselves.
Peace, Love and History (repeating),
Note: be weary of the various religions and political factions of man: they seek to separate and destroy what naturally is inclined to unite and create.
